Yankee Sensation a son of Western Hanover has taken out the West Australian leading 2 yo sire of the season for WA based stallions.
Yankee Sensation stands at Debra Lewis’s Hollywood Park at Hopeland just 52 kilometres from the Gloucester Park.
He is out of a world champion 2YO filly Scootalot 1:54.8 ($106,597) a Direct Scooter mare.
Yankee Sensation is the sire of three individual 2yo winners last season including Rich Yankee who amongst his 5 wins last season captured the Group 1 Pearl Classic.
His best progenyto date is super mare Sensational Gabby, she won seven of her 21 Western Australian starts last season for stakes of $183,070 including the Group 2 Mount Eden Sprint, Group 2 Empress Stakes and three Group 3 races the Norms Daughter Classic, Stratton Cup and Members Sprint.
She is presently racing in North America where she is unbeaten winning her only two starts.
The Ross Torre owned Allamerican Ingot ( Western Hanover) took out the WA based 3yo sires awards his best performed 3yo was Lady Willoughby who won the Listed Westsires Classic.
The ill fated Northern Luck (Camluck) took out the all aged WA based sires award his son Tuxedo Tour took out the Group 3 Christmas Gift.
Northern Luck best performed so, JR MINT, is now standing in South Australia. JR MINT, himself is already the sire of Group and Listed winners.
David Hercules was named WA Horse of the year. David Hercules won six of his 11 starts for stakes of $377,755 with four of the six wins coming at Group One or Group Two level per medium of the Fremantle Cup, Village Kid Sprint, Pinjarra Cup and heat of the 2015 Inter Dominion.
David Hercules retires with a record of 104 starts, 39 wins, 18 seconds and 15 thirds for stakes of $1,259,019.and is one of only two Western Australian bred millionaires the other is Has The Answers who retired with stakes of $1,326,582.
David Hercules is by Artesian which now stands at Cameron Mills’s stud in Katanning.
His dam is Like A Dame (by Golden Greek) was named Western Australian Broodmare of the year she is also the dam of David Hercules full-brother Hugh Victor (6 wins), half-brother James Hercules (4 wins) and half-sister Isabella Jane (1 win).
