BB2 - PhotoGood news for standardbred  breeders yesterdays APG Melbourne  sales thus far are more  12 %  up on the 2015 version.

The 2016 Sales Average was $28,537 with a clearance rate of 84% up from $25,407 and 82% last year

But the big winners were the vendors who took advantage of APG’s innovation “The Ultimate Buyers Guide” which featured photos and video footage of yearlings.

The $99 was very well spent by those who chose to participate with their drafts of yearlings proving stronger bidding than those vendors who chose not to participate.

“Proof is in the pudding” as the old saying goes, just compare some of the lots below-

Shadow Play had 24 lots catalogued average for those sold that took advantage of the “Ultimate Buyers Guide on line $21,400 compared to $20,545 who didn’t promote their lots.

Rock N Roll Heaven‘s yearlings average $3303 more for those vendors who spent the $99 to have their photo and information added to the guide.

While Art Major the figures were $38,285 compared to $23,875.

If you’re a Sydney or Brisbane vendor you should get into the Ultimate Buyers Guide it will be the best $99 you ever spent.

One other highlight of the APG sale was the on line interviews through APG TV it gave great insight as to what some of the leading buyers look for in yearlings and captured the excitement of the sales ring and those who were lucky enough to have purchased a star of the future.

APG’s Administration Manager Louise Toulmin said “it was a great sale, we are happy with the end result and also we have been able to close the deals on many of the passed in lots so the clearance rate will rise.”
