BB1 - some kinda tacktics 2

The Whyalla club could not have wished for a better line of SA pacers than the horses that contested the Whyalla Cup. What a field! What a race!!

The Port Pirie track was in excellent order, as usual. The times were very good. The winners of four of the seven races broke 2 minutes. Twelve of the final (4) quarters in each of the seven races were run in under 30 seconds.

The drive of Ken Rogers on Some Kinda Tactics in the Whyalla Pacing Cup was a rib tickler. He gave Some Kinda Tactics time to balance up in the early stages of the race. In fact Ken Rogers bidded his time at the rear end of the field until the last lap and a bit.

He got some luck when Amajorjo pulled out in front of him with a lap to go and gave him a tag up to the leaders three wide on the track.

Come On Frank tried to go with Some Kinda Tactics but took a while to wind up for Darren Billinger.

Once he secured the trail behind Amajorjo, Rogers had no intention of going before acceptances. He settled on the coat-tails of Amajorjo and sat. He followed Amajorjo’s shadow.  Rogers knew exactly what he was doing.

He didn’t cut the ribbons until heads were turned for home. Then and only then did he ask Some Kinda Tactics for an all out effort. The horse responded magnificently.

Trainer Jonathon Kingston Mayne,  has done a superb job with Some Kinda Tactics this prep.
