Under rated stallion JR Mint who stands at Jarrad Harrison Skyline Stud in the North of South Australia has produced another listed winner on Sunday when Hugo Play scored in the Launceston Mile at Mowbray.

Hugo Play an eight-year-old from his sire’s first crop is out of the Cognac Hanover mare Toy Story, who has produced six winners from seven live foals.

Hugo Play has now won over $120k and joins El Jays Magic and Black Centurion as $100,000 winners by this underrated son of Northern Luck.

Harrison has stood JR Mint for the past two breeding seasons has expanded his operation to included transported semen this upcoming season, until now he has only been available on farm.

JR Mint on the racetrack won 17 of his first 20 starts as a two and three-year-old in the USA and Canada including winning the elimination and final of the $500,000 Hoosier Cup.  The bay entire that stands 15.2 hands high, comes from the hottest maternal family lines of the past few decades being  out of Kiss & Candy an outstanding producer with four sub 1:55 winners

His  grand -dam Beckys Love is a half-sister to Blue Horizon, who we know in  Australia is the dam of Panorama and grand-dam of Grinfromeartoear. This amazing family has also produced the highly successful sires Safely Kept and Real Desire as well as the champion racehorses Rocknroll Hanover, Red River Hanover and Tell All.

Hugo Play will be set for Tasmania’s major race the Easter Cup next month by trainer Shelly Barnes who has done a wonderful job with the injury plagued gelding.
