West Australian trainer Nathan Turvey will launch a three-pronged assault with Chevrons Champion, Bettor Boa and Our Gamma Lady in the $150,000 Group 1 WA Oaks (2536m) at Gloucester Park on Friday night.
Chevrons Champion (Bettors Delight- Dreamsaregold), who has won five WA races since arriving from New Zealand, finished fourth to Dodolicious after being held up in last Friday night’s WA Oaks Prelude (2130m).
Bettor Boa, (Bettors Delight- Miss Anaconda) is in line for a third consecutive win and Our Gamma Lady (Mach Three-Maheer Lady) has recovered from a cold which threatened her Oaks campaign.
Turvey, with 105 wins is just 5 behind leader Chris Lewis on the WA reinsmen’s premiership, looks the only threat to Lewis for the title.
Bettor Boa, who has won six of her past 11 races, should not be underrated.
Auckland winner Our Gamma Lady stamped herself as a leading Oaks contender when she won her first two WA starts at Gloucester Park.
