The 2nd colt from our ground breaking program, which focussed on producing a foal that could win more than $100,000 in career earnings, will be available at the APG sale in Sydney. What is really exciting and pleasing about this colt is that l had many sleepless nights weighing up the advantages of joining this colt’s dam My Prima Bella, (the sister of the almost unbeatable filly Carabella who had that amazing record 19-17-2-0) to Bettors Delight or Roll With Joe.
With Carabella’s dam being such a successful cross and with all indicators pointing to Bettors Delight or his bigger framed brother, you may think Bettors Delight would be the clear choice. However l just had that really strong premonition that Roll With Joe was the perfect match for this mare.
Time has shown that choice of Roll With Joe now looks a good one, courtesy of Racing Hill (by Roll With Joe) a 2013 horse that’s won US$1,727,692. Racing Hill was retired to stud after an outstanding year with victories in the Breeders Crown, US$500,000 Max Hempt Final, Messenger Stakes, US$400,000 Adios & was announced as the 2016 richest 3YO harness racing horse. Racing Hill is of course out of the very same family (U4) as this colt and his dam, My Prima Bella.
Ron Groves who developed the concept of the maternal numbering system rated this family in the top 5 all-time greatest families for a reason, it is truly outstanding

Anyone who has ever had anything to do with this colt, Lot 399, has fallen in love with him. In fact, he is tipped to be a Trainers Delight, just a beautifully put together yearling that loves to learn, has a very trusting, calm nature who really enjoys his feeding time. However it’s the way he free legs around the paddock that also catches plenty of attention.
We realise that being the second last lot of the day (399), it’s unlikely this perfectly bred yearling will break any sale records, however one very smart, astute new owner will walk away with a fantastic colt that the numbers suggest will have a much better chance of exceeding $100,000 in career earnings than his contemporaries. It is important to point out that no stone was left unturned with the breeding of this colt.
