Yirribee Pacing Stud has a consignment of three yearlings listed in the upcoming Melbourne APG Sale on February 5.
Lot 108 is a bay colt by champion sire, Art Major, out of the Life Sign mare, Elizabeth Kelly, who is half-sister to Greg Kelly. Greg Kelly is a former winner of the Australian Pacing Gold at 2 and went on to claim the Group 1 Australian Derby as a 3-year-old. Elizabeth Kelly is also a half-sister to McRaes Mate who took the Vicbred Final as a 3-year-old.
This colt’s grand dam, Miss Paula, is a dual Group 1 winner. She has become a sensation in the breeding barn, having had 13 foals of racing age and 9 winners. Amazingly, 3 of those have topped $300,000 in stakes money, and another pocketed over $250,000.
Miss Paula is also the grand dam of champion mare, Frith ($1,145,345, 1:50.1).
Lot 116 is a bay colt also by Art Major, and out of 2001 Australian 2YO filly of the year, Espeshlimade Lombo (by Troublemaker). This magnificent looking colt is a half to Bombora Lombo (13 wins), and Bettor Together. Bettor Together is a former top line 2 year-old who won the NSW Challenge Regional Final at 2, and finished third in the same Group 3 race at 3.
The grand dam of the outstanding colt is the Batman mare, Butterfly Trunkey, who is also the dam of million dollar mare, Tailamade Lombo and the grand dam of Aussie Made Lombo ($578,456), Yakuza ($266,857), Tsunami Lombo ($167.617), Disco Force ($268,416), Disco Flyer ($186,313), Live In Hope ($114,596), and Imposter ($167,450)
Yirribee’s final lot on the day will be Lot 176. This is another colt by Art Major and the 4th foal of Victorian Silver Chalice winner, Miss Trickin Lombo. The third dam of this colt is Misty Maiden – the dam of millionaire, Lombo Pocket Watch.
Miss Trickin Lombo is a half-sister to Group 1 winner, Suave Stuey Lombo. She is the dam of 2 time winner, Mista Lombo, and Tricka Treat Lombo, who ran 2nd in a heat of the Australian Pacing Gold.
This is the family of Beudiene Boaz, New Zealand champion, Terror To Love (three time NZ Cup winner) and Lombo La Fe Fe to name a few.
