This outstanding prizemoney is thanks to APG’s industry-owned and not-for-profit status over a 34 year history guaranteeing exceptional prize money back to the new owners in the North.

When we spoke to Paul Ellis (one of the distinguished APG board members in Qld) he went on to say:

“APG had some very difficult decisions that needed to be made, including that all sales races are to be exclusively restricted to the horses offered for sale at the relevant APG sale (i.e. non-sale entries will not be permitted). The board also made it very clear we needed to attract quality entries that would be up for legitimate sale and horses that are QBred eligible must be the priority in QLD. Whilst putting the interests and welfare of the local breeders in QLD first may have cost us entries in 2023 sales, the opportunities now for the buyers represent the greatest offering ever seen here in the north. We are laying the foundations that will see APG breeders and buyers offer greater rewards going forward past the 2023 sales”.

This GROUP 1 $150,000 2YO final will have insightful and shrewd buyers jumping for joy when enjoying the unmatched combination of ownership bonus’s and incentives that APG / QBRED yearlings bring to the track.

The QBRED Incentive Scheme continues to reward participants who invest in QBRED eligible horses.

It sees the first-win bonus set at $14,000 at any age (regardless of how many interstate wins they may have had), as well as a further $7,500 cash bonus for their first Queensland win in a subsequent season and the new $3,000 bonus for a third win in subsequent seasons other than the first two.
