BB3 rocknroll magic

South Australia hosts its biggest night of the year on Saturday night when the Southern Cross Finals are staged at Globe Derby Park.

Sensational colt,Rap Artist, has drawn the back line, but has the quality to overcome that poor draw in his quest for back-to-back Southern Cross crowns, having won last year as a two-year-old.

The son of Art Major from SavedACorkaout of that wonderful family of Uncork, has won 16 times from 20 starts for Mark Billinger, including 13 wins this season.

Rap Artist’s main danger may come from Jumping Jolt, a son of Village Jolt, who has drawn favourably in gate two.

The three-year-old fillies looks a formality for Rocknroll Magic from the Emma Stewart yard. The daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven has swept all before her this season, winning 10 of her 14 races including the Vicbred Super Series Final at Melton. Like Rap Artist,Rocknroll Magic is shooting for back-to-back Southern Cross championships.

The two-year-old colts and geldings, once again, will see the clash between EmainMacha(by Safari) and Stars Of Courage. They have met three times in their freshman year with EmainMacha holding the wood over the son of Courage Under Fire. However, the draw tomorrow night may swing a slight edge to Stars Of Courage, after he drew barrier one.No doubt,Dani Hill will be out to hold the lead.

Deeceeten– yet to beaten – has drawn the outside gate of the front line, but should figure in the finish.

In the fillies division, Globe Derby trainer, Ray Holberton, has qualified four of the 10 runners.Ellen Louise from gate two looks his best hope, but to claim victory she will need to hold off the Emma Stewart trained,Our Celebrity.

In a coup for South Australia, Sky channel’s, Jason Boddington, will be on course to do driver interviews prior to the start. All races will be on Sky1.
