Thursday night’s Mildura meeting once again was a successful one for South Australians. Jill Nielson trained Daddy Long Legs won the opening event on the program. The 3yo son af ill fated Art Colony out of Wyndown Stud’s Katie Me Matie scored by a half head from the Boris Devcic pair Goodtime Jezz and Warmminster.

Daddy Long Legs has yet to miss a place this season, his dam Katie Me Matie (What’s Next)  a winner of four races herself and has become a profitable broodmare in the breeding barn having left five winners from 6 live foals of racing age, including All Action Hero 10 wins and Kittykat Katie 6 wins.

The Toby Ryan trained Lisa Ryan driven Smiling Crest made it a race to race double of S, the son of Grinfromeartoear put up a strong performance to score by 3.3 metres.

Smiling Crest has now won seven races including two this season; his dam is the Canadian mare Makin Faces (by Jate Lobell)

The Dapper Don is South Australian owned by Buckland Park Homestead  was also successful on the program for Mildura trainer Boris Devcic.
