DodoliciousClass three-year-old Dodolicious consolidated nominal favouritism for next Friday’s $150,000 WA Oaks (2536m) when she overcame gate nine to win at Gloucester Park last night.

She was not extended by reins-man Ryan Warwick in the final stages of the AM Earthmoving WA Oaks Prelude (2130m) and rated 1:55.6 in scoring by 5.5m.

Dodolicious, starting a $1.90 favourite, relegated Dame Puissant ($33.40) and Madame Croupier ($6.10) to minor placings.

Co-trainers Greg and Skye Bond bred Dodolicious and retain ownership of her.

“She’s a special filly who loves to race,” Skye Bond said. “We’re looking forward to next Friday.”

Dodolicious, who ran second in the NSW Oaks (2400m) when taken to Sydney last February, has won 11 of her 18 starts.

Warwick punched her forward in early stages last night and she faced the breeze before proving superior.

Meanwhile, Bunbury two-year-old Wesley, starting at $34.80, caused a boilover when he led and won last night’s $50,000 Monford Group Champagne Classic (2130m).

Michael Joseph ($29.90) ran second and Maczaffair ($5) third.
