BB1 - image001Shadyshark Hanover the fastest three-year-old in North America in 2011, sired his first winner from his initial Australian crop when the harness racing two-year-old filly Graphics scored at Maryborough in Victoria this week.

 

Graphics, making her racetrack debut, was taken off the mobile from her wide barrier draw and settled down at the tail of the seven-horse field.

 

Graphics rounded up her rivals in the space of 150 metres to score by just on t two lengths.

 

Bred by Bruce and Vicki Edward, the baldy faced chestnut is out of an Artiscape mare, Illustrator, the dam of earlier winners in Yankee Strutter 1:57.7 (8 wins to date) and In A Rose Tattoo.

 

Shadyshank Hanover stood his first season at the stud in Indiana, covering a full book of 140 mares with 129 returning positive tests.

Shadyshark Hanover took his record of 1:47.8 winning a division of the Oliver Wendell Holmes at The Meadowlands, in which he defeated Roll With Joe after coming from last, establishing a new stakes record in the process.

 

He also sired  a feature race winner in USA in July when two-year-old filly Ginger Shark captured a $75,000 Final of the Indiana Sires Stakes at Hoosier Park.

 

Shadyshank Hanover stood at Goodtime Lodge near Colac in his first season has had to stand last season in New Zealand due to mix up in quarantine, will be back in Australia next season.

 

Shadyshark Hanover is also the sire of Shady Secret, an unlucky second on debut, and several qualifiers.
