Now l don’t know the owners and breeders of Lady Chatto (Richardson’s from NZ ) however, if she somehow doesn’t win on Saturday night at the Group 1 Gold Tiara at Bathurst, they may blame me, because this super filly by American Ideal (one of my favourite Stallions) looks a certainly in my books.
The Richardson’s have had this filly’s dam family for years and without being rude, its far from what many would class a strong family. In fact I would have found it extremely hard to justify keeping this line until Lady Chatto hit the scene – that’s all about to change with this very smart filly.
If you have the time to research this family, you will see the Richardson’s have been very loyal and patient. The way l see it, if Lady Chatto was in a sale’s catalogue she would have a minimum of 5 dams on the page at best. So fingers crossed this is all about to change and it should be a great night for all involved.
What’s also interesting to me, is it just shows how sometimes when the planets align, nature can throw up a very fast juvenile from almost anywhere. Now, l understand with only 2 races under her belt a lot water needs go under this bridge before we get too carried away. Although, how many of us would love to have this stylish filly by this great stallion in our stable’s right now?
