The square trotters take centre stage from this Friday with a series of Country and city Cups commencing with the Kadina Trotters Cup at Port Pirie on Friday night.
The trotting cups are lead ups to the Gramel Series in early May which this season is a one night affair with extra bonus to be distributed amongst the main events on the night
In consultation with HRSA, the Square Trotters Association’s financial contribution to this GramelSeries, will be paid via bonuses to the owners of placegetters in the four finals on Gramel night on 7th May. The bonuses will be $2000 for the GramelFinal, and $1000 for each of the Legends final for T0 to T2 trotters, the Parker Classic for 2yo trotters and in all likelihood the 3yo Trotters Derby. There is also a possibility of bonuses on the heats of the legends on Monday, 2 May.
HOWEVER, to be eligible for the bonuses both horse and trainer must be paid up members of the SA Square Trotters Association by acceptance time for their heat/race.
Many horses/trainers are already eligible for these bonuses, having paid their $20 to be a member of the association, and another $20 to make their horses eligible for the end of season awards, as well as these bonuses. Any bonuses not claimed will be allocated to future races throughout the season. Interstate horses will be eligible to win the bonuses provided their trainers are members of their home state Square Trotters Association at acceptance time.
