There is something about Sires Stakes racing that gets the heart pumping.
In Queensland it races under the banner of QBRED Triad and on Saturday night at Albion Park the 3yo’s and 4yo’s strut their stuff for $100,000 in prize money.
The fillies race looks evenly matched after the barrier draw on Tuesday the Mark Dux trained filly Covert Beauty drawn the back line and the exciting Firebby drawn the outside of the front line.
Covert Beauty (by Art Official) has won 8 times from 21 starts and has a powerful finishing burst if held up for one run, she will lack nothing with Matthew Nielson taking the drive from Mark Dux who was involved in an accident on Tuesday.
Firebby is out of former Queensland mare of the year Rebby will have to use all her gate speed if she is to take up a forward position after drawing the swamp.
Firebby has had 14 life time starts for four wins best in 1:54.9 and is the first foal of her dam Rebby who has two other live foals a 2yo filly by Shadow Play which has been named and a Western Terror filly currently in its second preparation.
With the services of Trent Moffat on board let’s hope Firebby can put her into position that gives her a fighting chance.
Trained by Cristina Monte at Jacob Wells who will dare to dream she can train a Group 1 winner as we all know “Harness Racing is were dreams are made”
