ENJOYING plenty of luck on the track, Libertybelle Midfrew hasn’t experienced the same good fortune with her foals in recent years.
A highly-talented pacer, Libertybelle Midfrew was triumphant in each of her five seasons at the races, winning three Group Ones and a pair of Group Two and Threes.
Boasting a strong bloodline to match her racing feats, Libertybelle Midfrew’s stock has been well sought-after, but not all has gone to plan.
Unfortunately an accident on the way to the Australian Gold Pacing Sale a couple of months ago resulted in Libertybelle Midfrew’s daughter by Sweet Lou being withdrawn from the Sydney ring.
In 2020 Libertybelle Midfrew’s son – by Bettors Delight – was bought from APG’s Sydney Sale but soon became the unfortunate victim of disappointing circumstances.
The rig, which I’ve decided to name ‘Michael’ after my colleague, is being resold after the initial buyer failed to complete the $130,000 purchase amount.
As such, the now untried three-year-old is being offered by APG once again during the company’s Weight In Gold Sale.
Injury free and well-handled, the striking individual will go ‘under the hammer’ as Lot 3 in the unreserved sale.
APG has already received plenty of interest relating to Michael, which as a “fresh three-year-old” with the potential to develop into a Grand Circuit performer.
Online bidding begins at 2pm on Wednesday, June 15 and ends at 5pm on Friday, June 17 AEST.
