For anyone interested in the official records from USTA, I find it exceptionally fascinating and have summarised the results published below under each of the track sizes and categories.
What’s really encouraging in the lead up to the Sydney sale is the names of these individuals and the fact that they have good representation of their progeny by way of very strong numbers in the March 3 Sydney sale.
American Ideal
Bettors Delight
Mach Three
McArdle
Rocknroll Hanover
Roll With Joe
Somebeachsomewhere
Sweet Lou
Warrawee Needy
Western Terror
The stand out pacer in North America in the season just completed was clearly McWicked ( The star son of McArdle). While he is fast approaching the $4,000,000 mark in career earnings, his 2018 stats below are mind blowing:
While McWicked is the 9th leading money winner of all time on the pacing table and he is just $103,124 off becoming one of only 7 horses to win more than $4,000,000 in career earnings. In what l believe is even more staggering is that 20% of McArdle’s progeny of racing age in North America have won more than $100,000 in earnings.
Thankfully, the Sydney sale will offer up both a filly and a colt in this sale. The colt in the words of John Coffey “Put simply, he is just a stunning individual “. John was quite taken by this breath-taking colt the moment he walked out of his box. He went on to say “ Very few yearling’s have caught my attention over the journey like this fella. Really, it’s a credit to all those associated with this remarkable looking colt”
I’m truly fascinated with how the Sweet Lou’s will sell in our sales over the next few years. What’s abundantly clear is that he has the ability to leave unquestionably fast fillies and colts. With talk his service fee is looking at a very significant increase next year, I’m intrigued to see how this plays out.
Captaintreacherous who has good numbers in the Sydney sale, has set the bar this season averaging $47,715 in Melbourne. Again, don’t be surprise if his service fee is moved upward in the 19/20 breeding season.
