8Our Overanova is chasing another record this weekend.

Fresh from setting a new track record at Albion Park last weekend for the 1660m, the star performer is now chasing the last available record.

As it stands, the Monarchy gelding has the mobile start 1660m (1:56.2), mobile start 2138m (1:58.6) and the standing start 2138m (1:59.0) records in his keeping but the 2647m record is proving elusive.

But that could all change tomorrow night.

Our Overanova, a winner of 30 races at headquarters, starts in the Secure Parking Trotters Handicap where he must overcome a huge 55m handicap and in-form rivals including Senitas Success, Blue Don and Just Leave.

Last week, he sat parked outside of Senitas Success before overpowering his rival in the concluding stages when setting a new track record.

And big handicaps are nothing new for the decorated trotter, in fact, this is the 8th time that he has started off a handicap of 50m or greater.

The current track record for the 2647m stand start belongs to Releven Dream at 2:00.8 who set the mark last September.

“It’s something that will look really cool if he can hold the track record for all three distances at Albion Park, it won’t be easy but he’s racing in such good form as he proved last week. It looks like Senitas Success is the hardest to beat again.” Owner Greg Mitchell said.

Mitchell is also represented by Blue Don, a winner over Our Overanova two starts ago.

Another title that Our Overanova is chasing is the title of Queensland Trotter of the Year which will be decided on October 30 at the annual awards function.

Given the deeds of Our Overanova over the past season, he’s also a strong chance in the overall Horse of the Year award.

Other strong contenders for the Horse of the Year award include Avonnova, Ultimate Art, Catcha Lefty, Maestro Bellini and Park Life among others.
