9Another great program of racing is scheduled for Albion Park this Saturday night.

The first of ten races scheduled to commence at 5.35pm, gates will open at 4pm and as always, its free entry.

Highlights include several even and competitive metropolitan events plus an intriguing trotter’s handicap which will be staged over the staying distance journey of 2647m.

The Secure Parking Trotters Handicap will be staged as the final race on the program.

The state’s best trotter Our Overanova must overcome a handicap of 55m.

But the opening event will be the focus of punters with a guaranteed $50,000 First 4 pool which carries a jackpot component of $10,000.

And it looks a competitive line-up with several in-form pacers engaged in the Supporting Qld Racing? UBET Pace which will be staged over the distance of 2138m.

Donegal Under Fire, a winner of the opening race last week starts again but must overcome a second-line draw this week for trainer/driver Chantal Turpin.

The leading trainer is also represented by Run Fatboy Run, Buy Chevron Direct and Compton Street while Grant Dixon will have Monarkmac, Bio Marinus and The Pacman engaged.

A Quadrella jackpot of $10,000 is also slated; the quaddie will be staged on races 2, 3, 4 & 5.

The quaddie pool is expected to exceed $50,000.

Again, the quaddie legs look open with several even races assembled meaning punters will get great value.

Also, a trifecta guarantee of $10,000 will take place on race three.

Leading drivers Shane Graham and Pete McMullen will be absent from the meeting with both competing in the Australian Drivers’ Championship at Globe Derby in Adelaide.

This is the third edition of the series and to date; Queensland has a perfect record to date with McMullen winning the inaugural series when staged at Globe Derby two years ago while Grant Dixon scored a victory last year when staged in Tasmania.

The APHRC wish both drivers the best of luck.

The first of 10 races is scheduled to start at 5.35pm.
