Inter-dominion and Little Brown Jug winner Mr Feelgood has gone to stud with huge wraps on him. The son of Grinfromeartoear, however at this stage he has failed to set the world on fire.
However having said that, he has sired 12 winners down under from just 23 starters including three $100,000 plus winners including Charming Allie ($261,272).
Today the Queensland based stallion sired a 2yo winner in Bonnie Jujon a striking filly out of Truly Famous, a three time winner, by Famous Forever (by Fake Left).
Bonnie Jujonwas having her fifth venture to race track, scooted over1660 metre event in mile rate of 157.7. Bonnie Jujon had solid form going into today’s race after running second in aAPG heat to the eventual APG fillies champion Park Life.
Bonnie Jujon is one of best breed foals of Mr Feelgoods 2013 crop of 76 foals, her second dam Tendy Brooke was handy race mare winning just over $70k however she has done a wonderful job in the breeding barn, leaving eight winners from nine runners.
Mr Feelgood a millionaire son of Grinfromeartoear is out of theJate Lobell mare,Best Of Memories, his second dam is the North American blue hen Leah Almahurst.
Leah Almahust (by Abercrombie) a millionairess on the racetrack, is a true breed shaper being the dam of Western Ideal, Make A Deal and Western Hero and the granddam of the ill-fated and under rated stallion Rob Roy Mattgregor.
In 2014 season Mr Feelgood had 89 foals on the ground, some made the major sales this year as yearlings but his biggest crop is to come next season with over 200 foals, many will no doubt hit the sales rings around the country in 2017.
The judgement is out on Mr Feelgood as sire but the next 12 to 18 months will tell if this super star on the racetrack will transition to super star in the stallion barn.
