THE barrier draw for the SEW Eurodrive Miracle Mile will be conducted on Saturday night at Tabcorp Park Menangle and history suggests a good draw is vital for success.
Since the Miracle Mile was conducted on the 1400 metre track for the first time in 2009, no horse has won the event after drawing wider than barrier four. Christen Me (2014), Beautide (2013 Nov), Smoken Up (2010) and Monkey King (2009) all started from gate four while Baby Bling (2013 Apr) had barrier two and Smoken Up won his second Miracle Mile in 2011 when he drew barrier one.
Even more concerning for connections– of the 18 horses that have been placed in the Miracle Mile at Menangle just two of them have drawn wider than barrier five. Guaranteed started from gate six in 2014 when he finished third and Terror To Love started from barrier seven when second behind Baby Bling.
