1The Chariots Of Fire is just one week away and Amanda Rando’s best bet for the meeting at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday night will compete in the $200,000 event next week.

Ameretto qualified for the Chariots of Fire after finishing second behind Arms Of An Angel in the Hondo Grattan Stakes and while trainer Ashlee Grives will be using the race as the mare’s final hit-out, Amanda expects the mare to take some beating from the good draw.

Ameretto trialled impressively at Bathurst prior to her resumption, and she ran a sub 1:55.0 mile rate.  The mare is versatile in her racing pattern and will be winning better races in her career.

Next best according to Amanda is the Shane Tritton trained Yayas Hot Spot.  While his record at Menangle is not brilliant, he did win on the big track recently and his run in the Goulburn Cup when he placed was strong.

Yayas Hot Spot is one of the 18 Tritton trained horses that made a mid-week move to the new Menangle Training Centre and if he hasn’t taken any harm from the trip he will be right in the finish.

BEST BET – Race 3 No.2 Ameretto

NEXT BEST – Race 4 No.3 Yayas Hot Spot
