3Kristy Sheehy will be out to maintain her slender lead in the penultimate leg of the Garrard’s Junior Concession Driver Challenge series at Bunbury on Saturday.

Sheehy’s hopes rest with five-year-old Perfect Mach who is looking to bounce back after being declared a non-runner in a standing start at Collie last Sunday.

It interrupted a good patch of form for the Peter Bell-trained gelding who won consecutive races before a fourth placing behind Chief Thundercloud at Gloucester Park on February 12.

The main danger to Perfect Mach could come from Lettuceriprita who made a solid return from a spell when second, beaten 12 metres behind James Galleon last week.

The former Victorian has been placed in each of his three starts since entering the stables of leading trainer Gary Hall Snr last year.

In-form driver, Maddison Brown, will partner the son of Aces N Seven from gate 11.

The talented reinswoman is chock-full of confidence after a career-best win on Erskine Range in last week’s Albany Cup.

Aimee-Lee Wood has claims of shooting up the leader board with last-start Bunbury winner, Estilo, prepared by John Graham.

It was Estilio’s first start since August and he should strip fitter after finishing strongly to defeat El Sunami by a half-head.

21-year-old Sheehy can get her weekend off to a bright start when she combines with Bhagwan in the $20,000 Heineken Pace (2130m) at Gloucester Park on Friday.

The Neil Lloyd-trained pacer, who is closing in on $100,000 in stake earnings, has the luxury of starting from barrier three after copping wide draws previously

Sheehy has built up a good partnership with Bhagwan, driving the Rich and Spoilt gelding on 14 occasions for three wins, four seconds and four third placings.

The Garrards Concession Drivers Challenge is race three on the eight race programme.  The field of 12 starters will jump at 7:19pm.
