23 year old stallion Jet Laag has been pensioned off by Empire Stallions.
The grey millionaire son of Laag (an Abercrombie stallion) sire nearly 300 individual winners down under.
Although he has sired 920 foals three-year-old and over only 2% (19) have won over $100k however his richest son Lombo Pocket Watch won $1.5 million including 12 Group 1 races.
Jet Laag also sired Argent Treasure who captured the Group1 WA Pearl as atwo-year-old and went onto to win the WA Derby (Gr1) at three.
Out of the Big Towner mare Truancy, Jet Laag on the racetrack won every year from his freshman year till the age of seven.
At 2 he was the winner of $200,000 Lou Babic Final at Freehold, $50,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes, Governor’s Cup elim at Garden State and $20,000 Arden Downs Stake at the Meadows.
He came back as a three-year –old to capture the $251,000 American National Stake elim and Final.
Jet Laags finest years were as a 4-5 and 6 year old he won 10 races at 4, 10 as a 5yo including the Senior Jug at Delaware. All-Age World Champion on a half-mile track – 1:49.
As a six –year-old he won another 12 races at the end of his career he won a total of 44 races and 43 placings
Jet Laag will see out his days in his paddock at Empire Stallions.
