3Trainer/driver Lance Justice says he has been blown away by the generosity shown by many members of the Victorian trots community.

Through his Facebook page Justice has been trying to raise money and equipment for the South Australian trainers who were wiped out by the recent Pinery fires in South Australia.

As is not surprising, the trots community locally heeded the call in a big way.

“I’ve had heaps of clothes, harness gear, sulkies etcetera all donated from all over Victoria. It’s been fantastic,” Justice said.

“We’ve had people from Tasmania helping out and Western Australia. We’ve packed up all the gear now and we’re trying to organise transport for it over to South Australia.

“It’s been overwhelming. We’ve even had a local saddler work all night doing repair work on the donated gear so that it is all up to race standard.”

In conjunction with Maryborough Harness Racing Club, Alabar Bloodstock and Olympus Feeds a raffle has been launched.

Tickets are $5 each with first prize a stunning blue Whiplash Sonic Sulky (pictured).

Second prize is a stallion service to Grinfromeartoear, generously donated by Alabar Bloodstock.

Third prize is a full pallet of Epower VE, kindly donated by Olympus Feeds Australasia.

All funds raised go to help the trots participants adversely affected by the recent fires in South Australia.

The raffle will be drawn on the Maryborough Harness Racing Club’s Christmas Eve meeting (December 24).
