4The Bendigo Harness Racing Club has worked closely with the Bendigo Greyhound Racing Club to launch the inaugural Heathcote Pacing Cup Pacing and Chasing Race Night at Lord’s Raceway, Bendigo tonight.

Strong numbers have booked into the Raceview Function Centre for the evening with two memorial races on the program honouring Georgia Edsall-French, the daughter of Heathcote trainer Terry French, and Melinda Galloway, who worked at Bendigo in the numbers’ room and was the niece of former committeeman and life member Stan Rutland.

All up there are 20 trots and greyhound races on the dual-code program, a terrific initiative.

Dining packages are still available.

And if you’re thinking about the kids, bring them along! There will be heaps to keep them entertained including the ever popular jumping castle, a face painter, showbags for the first 150 children through the gates and there’s a whisper that Santa might even be dropping in for a visit.

Entry is simply via a gold coin donation, raising funds for the Heathcote Fire Brigade.

So get along to a night at the trots/dogs and support the community.
