Nominations for North and South Island positions on the Harness Racing New Zealand (HRNZ) Board closed on Friday 19 May.
In the South Island, there were three nominees for the two South Island seats on the Board, hence an election is required. Nominees are (click on person’s name to view their profile):
- Greg Crawford (Christchurch)
- Ken Spicer (Christchurch)
- Brian Wastney(Blenheim)
In the North Island, following the announcement of current member Steve Phillips’ retirement, Ross Johnson was the sole nomination received and as such no election is required for this position.
Ross will assume his position on the Board following the Annual Conference on 5 August.
Steve Phillips has sat on the Board of HRNZ for the past 12 years. Over this period, he has held Board responsibility for a wide range of HRNZ portfolios, including representing HRNZ on the Board of the Racing Integrity Unit.
Voting for the South Island positions closes on Tuesday 20 June 2017.
