Three year old colt, HezThe One, wrote his name into the record books on August 1st when he took out the 3yo Southern Cross Final held at Port Pirie.
After settling well back from the inside the back line draw, Dani Hill got HezThe One off the peg line. At the bell, Hill took the colt 3 wide and by the 400 metre mark, HezThe One had reached the lead. From that point he continued to put a margin between him and his rivals. The margin at the finish was 8.5 metres from Officianado with Hit Maka a further 7 metres away in third spot.
The Jeremes Jet colt recorded his 14th win from just 23 starts. Thirteen of those 14 wins have been in South Australia, but it was his first start on the Port Pirie circuit.
