Is Beaudiene Boaz, the son of Badlands Hanover, Australasia’s best pacer? Gary Hall may think so after last night.
Beaudiene Boaz has now won $1,021,344 and along with Washakie (the winner of $1,838,473), are the two leading sons in Aus / NZ of world champion sire Badlands Hanover.
Beaudiene Boaz, is a super star that has six GROUP 1’s, three GROUP 2’s, two GROUP 3’s already… Can you believe he was almost lost to the sport earlier this year after he suffered a very serious eye injury.
Badlands Hanover is no doubt an outstanding stallion and has the ability to really lift a mare’s family; and this match with Beaudine Babe is just another example of the perfect combination of genetics.
Art Major x 2 , Bettors Delight x 2 and D M Dillinger x 1 have their chances with this mare, however, the Badlands cross just works – and not only with this star son in question.
I love a stallion that can leave elite colts and mares as Badlands has proven to do for many years. The first foal from Beaudiene Bade is a mare called Beaudiene Bad Bade (by Badlands ) winner of more than $404,000.
Breeding horses could just be one of the hardest task’s going around, however with a mare like this, l just don’t understand why you wouldn’t just keep breeding back to this Champion sire and stay with the proven genetic that works.
Thanks to the great initiatives of John Dumesny and his team at HRNSW, mares from all over Australia that breed to Badlands Hanover will now be eligible for substantial Breeders Challenge Bonuses.
New player alphastud.com.au must be:
- Really lucky to get a world champion sire at the right time and price for the breeders in AUS.
- Just smart to make a move at the appropriate time and to team up with the suitable state that will benefit the whole Breeding industry going forward.
- All of the above
It’s way too early to be calling Beaudiene Boaz the winner of the$ 1.8 million TAB Perth Inter Dominion Series, however, he looks to be right in the mix to me.
Breeders are always looking to get the numbers back in their favour – well he’s a massive tip to achieve this!
Badlands Hanover / In The Pocket has been a gold mine for the smart, well researched breeder.
This list is from less than 80 foals on this cross, and that’s north of 15% $100k winners – we just don’t see those numbers in AUS/ NZ
The so called “super cross” of Bettors Delight / In The Pocket doesn’t come close to the numbers above, it runs at south of 13% for $100k winners
It’s only earlier days for a cross like Badlands Hanover / Art Major. However that cross runs north of 30% and with the $97,095 earnings of Better To Be Bad, (a mare by Perfect Art – Art Major’s full brother), I would look at this very closely.
The Life Sign / Badlands Hanover cross is another to watch – again its only early, however its already produced:
Take note, this list is from just 53 foals born on this cross.
Not only does the cross of Badlands Hanover / Walton Hanover’s mares appear very strong on Testmating, the evidence/results is also overwhelmingly impressive:
From an astonishingly low number of just 26 foals on this cross, the above-mentioned also gives the breeder a real chance of success.
Badlands Hanover when matched with Northern Luck Mares is like winning the breeding lottery – with a very exclusive list of just 8 foals. Check out the results below:
I’m told Alphastud.com.au have very limited stock of Badlands left after one successful breeder / client booked 6 mares earlier last week. My tip for all breeders with the right mares is do your homework and stay with the proven cross’s that work. Not only will you get a better outcome for yourself and your own family but the industry as a whole will be better off.
My older clients/Harnessbred.com friends often ask me to remove the data or results from NA mares so they can see how the crosses are working on AUS/NZ families. A great example of this is the Badlands Hanover / Sokys Atom cross:
This list above is from less than 100 foals born in AUS / NZ and again a sign of the strength of this stallion with the right mares
When l look at Albert Albert Mares, I do normally just include them with Life Sign mares, as my research shows they have an extremely similar genetic profile. However, today please see below his remarkable performance (from no more than 29 foals of racing age) when matched to the correct mares for Badlands Hanover:
Like most people who just love harness racing, l’m always looking at ways l can best serve the sport and how I can use the tools (testmating data ) to keep people in the industry we all love. It’s really distressing to me when l see mares breeding to over-hyped and overly expensive stallions that have less than a 2% chance of a foal that can pay its way.
Can I just stress to all breeders: “DO YOUR HOMEWORK”. Forget the spin and only breed to elite, proven stallions that can give you the very best odds of breeding the next SUPER STAR like Beaudiene Boaz
