Top son of ART MAJOR USA for Western Australian Stud
In what could be described as a bit of a coup for WA breeders champion juvenile FOLLOW THE STARS has been purchased by Bob Fowler to stand at his Allwood Stud in Bullsbrook WA.
FOLLOW THE STARS became available after breaking down in the final of the 3YO Breeders Crown, he still managed to run second to Menin Gate so Bob had the opportunity to purchase him.
Bred in Victoria, FOLLOW THE STARS is by leading sire Art Major USA $2,727,224, 1.48.8. Art Major has led the Australian siring list on no less than six occasions and has sired an incredible six sub 1.48.0 pacers.
FOLLOW THE STARS was the 2014 Australian and New Zealand 2YO of the Year, he won 19 times from his 29 starts and only once missed a place when he collected interference in the Harness Jewels in NZ as a 2YO.
Overall FOLLOW THE STARS achieved earnings of $707,237 and taken a best mile rate of 1.53.8.
On his dam side he is royally bred with his dam Smyrna Duruisseau USA 1.56, being by Cam’s Card Shark sire of champion sire Bettors Delight USA. Smyrna Duruisseau dam Secret Date was by US champion sire Ambercrombie and she has produced Strange Hanover $272,041, 1.49.8, Little Brown Jug heat winner Texas Shootout $497,659, 1.50 and Reynolds Memorial winner Sub Rosa Hanover $211,132, 1.55.
Her next dam Dateable has produced 13 winners, eight of them with a sub 1.57 record. Her progeny include Historic $1.3m, 1.51, Seven O’Clock $559,080 and Tyler’s Mark $289,100.
FOLLOW THE STARS will start his stud career at the value fee of $2,200 including GST and given his bloodlines and racing achievements is sure to attract plenty of attention from breeders looking for a son of Art Major to stamp himself on the siring ranks.
