Breeders Crown has all the hype about super star horses and super star trainers but one Victorian trainer has excelled when it comes to qualifying numbers for Breeders Crowns weekend.
Bolinda trainer Vince Vallelonga has an amazing five runners over the two days Friday night former three-year-old Breeders Crown champion Major Crocker takes on the open class stars in the Breeders Crown Free For All.
Major Crocker a five-year-old gelding is heading towards half a million dollars in prize money he has won two of his four starts since a spell including a track record at Mildura first up.
The winner of 27 races Major Crocker is a son of Art Major can’t be left out of anything he starts in, he is on another Inter-dominion mission in Perth later this year.
On Super Sunday Vallelonga has no less than four runners his first to hit the track will be three-year-old trotter The Cooler a daughter of Majestic Son must be a place chance from the ace draw.
Vallelonga’s two-year-old filly All Done Up has not fared so well in the draw she will have to come off the back line against star fillies likes of the unbeaten fillies Partyon and Petacular.
Four-year-old Egodan is having his first start for the Vallelonga stable has drawn the back line in the Group 1 4yo colts & gelding final.
Vallelonga’s day will round out with four-year-old mare Chilled Desire a daughter of Real Desire who rumour has it has attracted US interest it would be a shame if another top quality mare is lost to Australian harness racing, Chilled Desire has won 10 races and $68,000 in prize money is from the family of $100k winners Very Tricky 33 wins and Aftoodo 26 wins.
Real Desire is fast becoming a top broodmare sire he is of course the broodmare sire of Hes Watching in fact 5 of his top 10 earners in North America are by either Americian Ideal or his sire Western Ideal two others are by another Western Hanover line stallion Well Said.( see graph below)
