Feature race winners from around the country on Saturday were as follows;
At Albion Park the main event was the Listed Christmas Cup and it went the way of Jackaroo Bromac a 7 year old son of McArdle who sired a double on the program with Monarkmac winning the fourth race on the program.
It rounded out a good couple of days for McArdle who also had a double on Friday at Menangle and a winner at Newcastle on Staurday.
McArdle has sired 50 winners thus far this season and is one of the most unrated stallions standing in this part of the world.
Alabar’s warhorse Grinfromeartoear was the sire of NSW feature race at Menangle was the Christmas Gift Final when his son Mister Bling was successful for Belinda & Todd McCarthy.
Group racing was at Melton with one Group 3 event and two Group 1. The Group 3 was the Harness Breeders Victoria Golden Challis and it was taken out by the super filly Rocknroll Magic trained by Emma Stewart and driven by Gavin Lang., as the name suggests this filly is by Rock N Roll Heaven and she has now won 10 races from 13 starts.
The square gaiters took the stage later on the program with the running of the Empire Stallions Vic Bred Home Grown Classic at Group 1 level the fillies were first up and the Mizurri a daughter of Skyvalley was far too good for her rivals despite an outside gate.
The colts final went to Big Jack Hammer a son of The Pres.
