Goulburn teenage horsewoman Emma Day thinks the four youngsters she is preparing for the Australian Pacing Gold Sydney Sale on Sunday, February 25 are all likely two-year-old prospects.

“They should all be early goers. They all have good temperaments,” Day, the daughter of leading NSW breeder Matt Day, said.

The offering includes three yearlings owned by Emma’s mother, Kirsty Day, including a colt and a filly from the first crop of the 2019 Inter Dominion champion and dual Derby winner Ultimate Sniper. They are the only stock of the champion Bettor’s Delight horse at the Sydney auction.

Lot 368, the brown/black Ultimate Sniper colt from the grand producer Our Pocketfullofdreams NZ seems certain to attract plenty of interest on the score of both pedigree and type.

He’s a half-brother to nine winners – five in 2:00 –  including the crack WA juveniles Bettor Dreams 1:54.6 ($186,952) and Racketeers Girl 1:54.8 ($86,545) and a close relative of the A. G. Hunter Cup and NZ Cup placegetter Sovereign Hill 1:55.5 ($432,555).

“He’s an image of his dad,” Emma stated. “He’s long barrelled and covers a lot of ground.”

The other Ultimate Sniper is Lot 335, a brown/black filly from the six-time WA winner and two-year-old classic placegetter Incendio NZ (1:56.7), the dam of four winners from four starters.

The filly ranks as a half-sister to the Listed Victorian winner and NSW Tatlow runner-up Krafty Bart 1:52.1 ($106,150), the WA Pearl heat winner Rolling Fire 1:55.8 ($94,040) and the Breeders Crown heat victor Soho Crucio.

“She’s a strongly built filly who finds her work very easy and has a lovely temperament,” Kirsty said.

The first of Kirsty Day’s draft to enter the ring is Lot 324, a brown/black colt by the former 2YO Colt of the Year The Storm Inside from a family that has distinguished itself by the number of top juveniles it has produced.

A half-brother to the prolific Gloucester Park winner Our Perkins 1:55.1 ($116,267), he’s out of the Grinfromeartoear mare Foxy Cleo, a half-sister to the Victoria Sapling Stakes winner and APG Final placegetter Nightn Georgia, the WA Sales Classic placegetter Kasey John ($237,239) and the Devonport Cup winner Sky Tower ($241,236).

Furthermore, the colt is a close relative of the dual Vicbred champion Rocknrolla ($287,351), the QBred 2YO Triad winner For Real Life ($240,486) and the WA Group 2 winner Firerockfireroll.

“He’s very athletic and good to handle. He’s in the same mould as his dad,” Kirsty said.

Completing the lineup is Lot 303, a lovely Rock N Roll Heaven filly from the good Somebeachsomewhere mare A Victor (1:53.9) being offered by prominent Victorian breeder Lyndon Turner.

A Victor, who won 10 races, is a daughter of the outstanding racemare and dual NSW Breeders Challenge winner Vertigal 1:55.5 ($317,380), the dam of four sub 2:00 winners including Star Major 1:50.2 ($149,225) and the Breeders Challenge heat winner Van Basten (1:52.9).

“She’s very athletic and well put together,” Emma said.
