1WHILE the Ovarian Cancer awareness campaign officially finished last weekend, HRNSW Chief Executive John Dumesny has declared to continue to support the cause at Broken Hill’s Carnival Of Cups meeting tonight.  The reinswomen in Broken Hill attracted plenty of local media attention wearing teal pants from February 1 until March 12 and the Club had also been helping to raise important funds for the Women’s Cancer Foundation Ovarian Cancer Institute.

Therefore Mr Dumesny has asked all of the female drivers tonight competing at Broken Hill to wear their teal pants and should they win a race HRNSW will donate $200 to the WCF.

“The lady drivers in Broken Hill have been great supporters of the campaign and seeing as it is the Club’s biggest night of the year, I thought it would be a nice offer seeing as they have worked so hard behind the scenes,” Mr Dumesny said.

“A couple of the local female drivers are competing in the main race tonight and it would be great to see Ashleigh Camilleri or Cassie Robinson have success in the event.”

Broken Hill has been well represented by junior female drivers in the NSW Rising Stars series in recent years with reinswomen such as Kasey Hocking, Ashleigh Camilleri and Cassie Robinson all competing successfully against other young drivers from around the state.

“There is a strong group of trainers in Broken Hill and HRNSW is proud to support them with race meetings every season.  The harness racing community do a great job encouraging local support and I’m looking forward to being trackside tonight to witness the Club’s feature meeting.”

During the WCF Ovarian Cancer awareness campaign HRNSW helped raised more than $47,000.
