Can you believe that a race won in Australia in a 2.23 mile rate yes 2.23.

 

The slowest mile rate recorded this century , at the non-TAB dual code meeting at the Queensland country track Gympie, when the Frank Bennett trained Whatasillyquestion NZ, led all the way in race one of the day over 1500m in 2.13.3 – A mile rate of 2.23.

 

That last mile sectionals were 30.1, 32.3, 31.4 and the final quarter  39.5yes at Bert Bryant would say you can kick your hat faster than that.
