Likable trainer Justin Brewin had what many would describe as a sensational weekend it all started with a double at Port Pirie on Friday night with Kissed Flush and first starter Sir Julian.
Kissed Flushed had only recently returned to Brewin from Vince Vallelonga’s stables in Melbourne and after a stop start run at globe Derby first up then blotted his copy book at his next start by galloping out, on Friday night he never looked in danger sitting one out and one back he pounced on the lead at the top of the straight and won as he liked.
Sir Julian looked more like a talented 2yo having its first start than a 5yo that had faced the judge 24 times previously but in the end own with authority.
Brewin told Harnessbred.com” he a big baby who will improve out of sight with racing”,
On Saturday Night at headquarters Brewin geared up another first starter in South Australia in open class pacer Cillas Boy a 6yo by McArdle who jumped straight to the front in the time honoured Veterinary’s Cup this year named in honour of Toby Ryan for the work he did without charge for the recent fire victims.
Cillas Boy had performed well in recent Victorian Country Cups , he stepped straight to lead and after running his last 400metres in 27.9 on Saturday night.
Brewin also scored with trotter Lysenko who was well driven by Dani Hill.
Then on Monday Sir Julian showed he will be a very handy horse for the Brewin yard when he overcome interference to score.
