Jason Lincoln is clearly a very successful man and his bio reads like one:
A self-confessed ‘racing nerd’, Jason brings a rare depth of knowledge across the three Australian racing codes, as well as the International scene.
A runaway winner of Sky Channels ‘Racing Wiz’ series in 2012, Jason brings a broad wealth of experience to Sky having been a Stipendiary Steward, a form analyst and a professional punter over the past 20 years.
This man with a bio that would make most of us look like we are under achieves, yet l believe he has got his assessment completely wrong about the number of graduates that will line up in the SA $100,000 Allwood Stud 2019 Group One for 2Yo’s.
Jason played down this extremely exciting announcement of Australia’s Best Value 2YO on In The Gig this week and used the capping of 60 yearlings as his issue of concern. He was almost suggesting the race wouldn’t stand up. What Jason may or may not know about this race is that it’s been set at a number for a very specific reason and l believe the co-host Greg Hayes was very close to the mark with his understanding of the concept. The chairman of the sales committee Mr Gary Crocker and his very experienced team are fully aware of the numbers, and they have had the data checked by a leading expert in this country.
Now there is no point getting into why Jason has this strange take on the race or why l am extremely confident the sales committee has it 100 % right. As we are now only 2 years out form the first running of the Allwood Stud $100,000 Group One, l have a challenge for Jason to back his position.
If Jason is correct and we have less than eleven 2YO’s nominate for the race www.harnessbred.com will Fly Jason down to Adelaide for the final, we put him up in Stamford Plaza for the night, we will provide him a private car to take him to the track and the full night of entertainment is on us, he would be treated like a King and we will provide his safe return back to Sydney.
That said, if we have the full card nominate as we are expecting, don’t be surprised if we have to run two heats the week before the final. Jason can fly me down to Sydney to join him and Greg on In The Gig and we will do a preview of this truly outstanding concept which many people already believe is Australia’s Greatest Value 2YO race.
Jason, do we have a deal ?
