This is the thirteenth of an occasional series of articles reviewing multiple classic producing broodmares with five or more offspring in results information as shown on the Classic Families (CF) database. A number of these mares won classic races, became the dams of classic winners/progeny and contributed to the genetic inheritance of numerous outstanding performers.

A son of the mighty Meadow Skipper, Correa’s sire Windshield Wiper (1973 Meadow Slipper/Keystone Mist by Bye Bye Byrd) was a top racehorse (1:53.2USTT, $379,205) who won North American Group One’s in the James Dancer Memorial and Messenger (third in Cane Pace). His 1:53.2TT meant he the retired fastest three year old of all time at that stage. His 45 starts yielded 12 wins, 15 seconds and eight thirds as a two and three year old. He commenced stud duties for Castleton Farms, Kentucky but after two seasons acquired for Australian duties by the Newbound brothers where he was an outstanding success especially when standing at Alabar Stud, Victoria. Correa a six race winner (2:00.1, $20,310), 5 VIC/1 NSW wins, owned by Ross and Heather Gange, Lemon Tree Stud, Shepparton who purchased her winning dam Emma Jo from Cranbourne trainer Paul Marrion, Correa being her second foal. Correa left five two minute horses among her nine race winners, three of them by Walton Hanover. Her first three dams left a total of 24 winners from 36 foals.
