AUCKLAND INTERDOMINIONS 2019 – HOLLAND, CLARKE AND BEATSON

This year’s Interdominions return to New Zealand for the first time in eight years. Last held at Alexandra Park (transferred from Addington, Christchurch as a result of the devastating earthquake of 22 February 2011), the Auckland Trotting Club are this year’s Championship hosts.

Christchurch (NZ) based travel agency Holland, Clarke and Beatson (HCB) whose specialist tours include many sporting events, will this year offer three tour durations (17 or 10 nights or Grand Finals weekend packages) for the 2019 Interdominion Championships to be held in Auckland, New Zealand. This year’s Championships feature both Pacing and Trotting heats and Grand Finals.

This year’s tours :

• 18 day/17 nights tour (Thurs 28 Nov – Sun 15 Dec) : three nights of heats and Grand Finals at Alexandra Park including admission, race book, dinner, drinks in the Tasman Room and/or Top Of The Park Restaurant. Week One : sightseeing includes half day Auckland City highlights; Maritime Museum/lunch at a Viaduct Basin restaurant; Kauri Museum. Other racing highlights feature visits to Auckland TC Franklin Park training facility, NZ Bloodstock’s Karaka complex and nearby

Alabar stud/standardbred breeding farm and a feature thoroughbred race meeting at Ellerslie racecourse. Week two : Waitakere Ranges scenic drive/West Coast beaches and winery lunch; overnight in Hamilton – Waikato River cruise, Hamilton Gardens, Otorohanga Kiwi and Native Bird Park; Waiheke Island cruise/Island tour/tastings/lunch; Devonport visit; Kelly Tarltons Underwater World (optional).Other racing highlights of Barrier Draw function (optional), Breckon Farms  and pre Grand Final night Dinner

• 11 day/10 nights tour (Thurs 5 Dec – Sun 15 Dec) : final round of heats and Grand Finals night; activities as outlined for week two of 18 day tour above
• Grand Finals weekend 4 day/3 nights tour (Thurs 12 Dec – Sun 15 Dec) : pre Grand Final night dinner and Grand Finals night
