One of the alluring aspects of the APG sales each year is that some very well bred yearlings can slip under the guard of the most diligent buyers, which invariably leads to someone getting an amazing experience.
Over the journey, horses like Park Life (the group1 winning daughter of Strawbs Interact) sold to Stephen & Narelle Dickson for just $16,000 out of the Brisbane sale in 2015.
In 2016 the Brisbane sale again produced the Group 1 winning Arts Treasure – this daughter of Art Start sold to the great APG supporters / friends Ian & Katie Sutherland for $21,000
Like the Brisbane sale, both the Sydney and Melbourne APG sales have also had incredible opportunities for buyers over the years and while its very early in the piece, I’ve been following I’m Delightful, Lot 78, a Bettors Delight filly from the Melbourne sale in 2018.
Purchased by F Jessup for $21,000 (which is now less than the service fee of her world champion sire) may turn out to be another wonderful buy. It’s hard to imagine a Bettors Delight filly out of the Art Major half sister of Beautide (A41 family) would be so affordable to most buyers at the sale.
I’m Delightful, who is trained by Sonia Mahar, will be driven by Luke McCarthy in today’s $15,000 2yo Breeders Challenge Heat for fillies at Menangle – on pedigree, she should be a short favourite.
For those of you that are not familiar with this branch of the A41 Family, please see some of the outstanding relations below:
