Duncan McPherson’s team from Aldebaran Park will be one of the big players at next Sundays (02/04/2017) yearling sale, at the Inglis, Oakland’s Junction centre.
Its Duncan’s amazing work he has been doing for years for the Women’s Cancer Foundation that has driven me, to take the time to share this information from both his website and facebook account, please do the same.
My understanding is that Duncan has raised close to $250,000 this year alone for the Women’s Cancer Foundation and it’s a mighty effort from man (like many) is extremely time poor. So let’s all get behind this good bloke, that’s having a real crack for not just Harness Racing, but the community at large.
If anyone has any interest in buying a world class yearling, please take the time to check out the draft from Aldebaran Park, you will be also supporting an outstanding organisation that gives back way more than they get.

Aldebaran Park is ideally situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley Stud region in Victoria on The Goulburn Valley Highway approximately 10 minutes north of Nagambie and 20 minutes south of Shepparton with direct access to Browns Road from the Goulburn Valley Highway. The farm consists of almost 135 acres of pastures with irrigation and water rights to the nearby East Goulburn Channel.
Some 20 fully irrigated paddocks are directly dedicated to long and/or short term racehorse agistment with each paddock safety fenced, treed and provided with a stable to ensure the individuality discerning owners and trainers of racehorses are seeking. The balance of the property has been developed to suit the long and or short term agistment of mares and foals.
The construction of an individually designed shed and barn facility, vet room and office facilities complimented the objective of the team at Aldebaran Park—to provide individual care to horses and to set standards of quality of horse agistment and stud duties at international levels.
These facilities were then complimented by the completion of a ten stall yearling barn, round yard and staff accommodation areas along with the house, horse walker and further improved the infrastructure.
Works have continued with the improvement of the facilities at Aldebaran Park with reconfigured foaling paddocks, additional stallion and AQIS certified quarantine facilities and new and redeveloped mares and agistment paddocks over some 15 acres of land along with the planting of an additional 2500 trees.
In 2015 extensive paddock rehabilitation and soil improvement and the upgrading of the irrigation system has seen paddocks flourish in the off season and as the spring of 2016 is looming it is sure to have an impact on the success of the rearing and producing of out progeny.
This year in 2017 development continues and it has seen the completion of roof structures to the horse walking area and a covered vaulted roof structure to the stalled and specific Yearling Barn area.
With 30 Trotting Mares in Foal for the 2016 breeding season preliminary earth works have commenced for another Yearling Barn to be completed in early 2017 in preparation for their needs for the 2018 Australasian Premier Trotting Sale.
Aldebaran Park continues to develop as we go forward and there is little doubt that the facilities and operation are of an international standard. We are “Hot to Trot” at Aldebaran Park
