How many different emotions can you feel in two minutes?

Shane Tritton reckons he felt all of them – and a few times over – while watching his freakish mare Arms Of An Angel run third in the Chariots Of Fire.

“The start was hard to watch, I didn’t know what to think in the middle and she stormed home and did that,” he said.

“She’s shown us so much already in the seven wins, but we learnt more about her again tonight.

“Zac (Cornell, owner) reckons she’s better with a sit and he might be right.”

Arms Of An Angel, who was expected to lead the Chariots, hopped and skipped before the start and missed away by 15-20m.

Tritton said minor gear mishap was the reason.

“Her noseband flipped around and Lauren said she just couldn’t steer him properly coming up to the start,” he said.

“That was hard to take, but to then see what she was able to do afterwards was just incredible.”

Arms Of An Angel came from a clear last, around the entire field and charged home to grab third to Have Faith In Me.

She was privately clocked to run a 1min48.2sec mile after missing away.

Tritton and Panella then had to sweat for almost an hour to see if the Menangle officials had given Arms Of An Angel a spot in the Miracle Mile field for February 28.

“It’s a relief she’s in. We really felt she deserved it and I think most people who watched her run would agree,” Tritton said.

“She’s come so far so quickly and is still getting better.

“This is going be an amazing Miracle Mile and it’s fantastic to have her in it.”
