Two Group 1 races in two different states
Another trainer stood down for using a banned substance and another outed till 2023.
It all started in Perth on Friday night when super 4 year old BeaudieneBoaz took out the Group 1 Fremantle Cup.
Gary Hall Snr trained pacer found the front after just under a lap, from Bettors Fire with Kyle Harper only wanting to hand up to the favorite as there were a couple of others who looked for the top in the first lap.
After a first half of the last mile in just 59.8 –Hall Jnr let the son of Badlands Hanover slip home in 56.0 – 26.8. My Hard Copy flew home in a superb trial for next Fridays WA Pacing Cup to grab second ahead of Bettors Fire, who battled on well and will be fitter for next weeks Cup – and the Tasmanian Devendra.
The following night in South Australia Geoff Webster returned to his home state to claim his fourth SA Cup with Flaming Flutter.
Coming for a third to Lennytheshark in the Perth Inter-dominions Flaming Flutter with Greg Sugars on board found the breeze early and controlled the race from that point.
The John Justice trained Hotaselclimed second prize to make it a expats quinella with the outsider Crusader Acey at 45 to 1 finishing third.
The drug issue raised its ugly head again in two states with NSW stewards outing MsMary-Jane Mifsud for 7 years and 6 months after she pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to Australian Harness Racing Rule 190 (1), (2) and (4) in that she did present MISTER BELLISIMO to race at Albury on 10 July 2015, not free of a prohibited substance.
And in South Australia trainer Andrew Kearney has been stood down under Rule 183 pending the outcome of an inquiry into a swab irregularity from SILVER RANGER. The irregularity is to Arsenic. The inquiry has been set down for Friday 15 January 2016.
