The Chairman of HRSA, Mark Carey, wishes to advise that the HRSA Board has approved $10,000 in funding towards the bushfire appeal for those industry participants and families affected by the bushfires.
Mr Carey stated that the fires have had a devastating impact on a number of harness racing participants and their families, and this financial support will provide an important base in providing some much needed assistance to those affected.
Although insurance will compensate for some losses, there are a number of other costs that will be incurred where insurance will either not cover or not adequately compensate for the loss.
HRSA have also established an account to receive financial donations to assist industry participants who have been affected by the bushfires, and the response from both the industry and the community has been overwhelming.
