Sunday’s Inter Dominion Grand Final day might have been dominated by Art Major with three winners on the program, Cold Major, Major Crocker and Major Catastrophe all winning races.
But it was New Zealand’s Nevele R Stud’s stallions that took the Group 1 honours on the day Badlands Hanover sired the Golden Nugget winner Beaudiene Boaz who outclassed his rivals in the straight the final time to score a comfortable 5.1m victory over Kiwi Legend, and another Nevele R sired horse Run Oneover who fought on to finish third after over-racing.
It was the 4-year-old entire’s fifth win at Group 1 level and his 19th overall, with his earnings now topping $700,000
4yo mare Nike Franco by unrated stallion McArdle won the Mares Classic after leading the Victorian trained super mare had little trouble holding off Jungle Jewel and Ideal Alice. Nike Franco now a 5yo has won 15 races and over $250K.
