6Star Victorian reinswoman Kerryn Manning notched her 100th Victorian winner for the season on Saturday night at Melton.

Manning piloted Iamajullian (Julius Caesar-Black Blossom) to victory in the Metlam Australia Pace Final at $9.70, the four-year-old gelding trained by Manning’s brother-in-law Paul Campbell.

It is the 16th time Manning has achieved the century milestone. She has also three times surpassed the 300-win mark in a season, driving a whopping 371 victories in season 2002-03.

“It’s always a thrill to get to 100,” Manning said.

“I was a late call-up (for Iamajullian) but Paul said he thought it was a chance … he’s generally a pretty good judge.”

Another gun Victorian reinswoman Kate Gath drew within one win of a season Victorian century on Saturday night when she picked up a winning double aboard Hush Your Majesty, trained by her father Peter Thompson, and Major Star for husband trainer Andy Gath.  Kate has driven 106 winners nationally this year to date.

Ironically Andy Gath, who is second behind Emma Stewart on the Renown Silverware State Trainers Premiership, is also on 99 Victorian wins for the season after Saturday night’s success.
