Goodtime Lodge’s Shadyshark Hanover sires the quinella of the Vicbred Home Grown 3YO Fillies heat at Bendigo last Friday, with his daughters Shady Secret who outstayed Shady McFly to win by 5.6 metres in a mile rate of 1.56.1
The winner is part owned by Brian Dobson, who also is in the ownership of rising star Tee Cee Bee Macray is also in the stables of Alan Tubbs.
Shady Secret was bred by Glenn Dalby out of a French Chef mare The Milky Way, she is dam of six other winners including Teo Ento 21 wins to date and $290,012 in prize money.
The runner up Shady Mcfly is out of a Safely Kept mare Rosie Mcfly.
Shady McFly has been a model of consistence since she made her debut at Swan Hill in March being placed four times from six starts.
While the victory by Shady Secret was her second win from just six starts she also was placed at her first start and was close up in a heat of the APG 2YO Fillies at Melton.
Shadyshark Hanover from just 34 live foals from his first crop 12 have made the racetrack with 3 winners.

Shadyshark Hanover won a division of the 2011 Oliver Weldell Holmes Pace in which he beat the likes of Roll With Joe and Big Jim in 1.47.8.
As a two-year-old he won in 1:50.8 at Woodbine in a heat of the Governor’s Cup and finished second (beaten a head) to Big Jim in the $709,000 final in 1:49.2. he also won the $102,000 Nassagaweya Stakes, the $96,000 Metro Pace Consolation and an elimination of the Breeders Crown.
After settling down last in the $600,000 Breeders Crown final, at Pocono Downs, Shadyshark Hanover run Big Jim to three-quarters of a length in 1:50.8 with the final half in 54.6 seconds.
From 12 starts as a two-year-old Shadyshark Hanover won four and was five times placed for $518,826 in stakes.
The Vicbred Home Grown Final may well treat Shadyshark Hanover with his first Southern Hemisphere Black type winner.
