The Australian Labour Party looks to have taken a clean sweep of seats in Tasmania rewriting the record books and trainer Ben Yole is close to rewriting the record books after a treble at Devonport on Friday night to his season tally to 87 winners with still 12 meetings remaining.
Yole will become the first trainer in 20 years to the century and join Barry Rattray and Neville Webberley as the only Tasmanian trainers to reach that milestone.
Since relocating from Victoria Yole has gone from strength to strength in the Apple Isle, his treble on Friday came from victories to Lake Eyre, Philtra Phella and Sutter Man.
Lake Eyre has always had a touch of class he was runner up in the 2014 Tasmanian Derby.
Yole’s second winner, Philtra Phella, was a cast off from Victoria but won 11 races under Yoles care, however he was claimed on Fridaynight by a client of Barry Rattray’s stable for $6000.
Sutter Man, by Sutter Hanover who now stands in Tasmania completed Yole’s hat trick.
