With still two months of the 2018/19 season remaining the Ben Yole stable sits clear at the top of the State Trainers Premiership with 147 winners.
Tonight in Launceston My Girl Pearl looks set to add to the tally, drawing gate four in the fourth race of the night the Carlton Draught Stakes.
“It looks her race over the mile trip, she is a nice three-year-old filly with good gate speed, she has drawn well in four and has been in good form,” said Ben.
“Her recent win in Hobart was promising coming from well back to beat Rosie Sambrosie was promising and she sat outside the leader in Devonport at her last run, which is not her go, but she battled on well to run fourth to Whattabout Spangher.”
Ben has another leading chance in race five the Find Us On Facebook Pace 0ver 2200 metres.
“Stylish Trend should lead up and be hard to run down after drawing inside the front line, Mark’s style of driving will suit him, he was another to sit outside the front runner in Devonport and was only beaten 1.3 metres in tougher company,” said Yole.
“He likes to make his own luck out in front so he is likely to have that opportunity tonight in quest of his fourth win for the season.”
Ben is quietly confident a recent addition to his stable is also in contention for victory on the seven-event card.
“Another Swinger won well for us in Devonport two weeks ago defeating Hez The One and races well in the Claiming class,” said the leading trainer.
“His last two efforts were against Call Me Hector and in the Ulverstone Cup but those races were a bit too hot for him finishing seventh on both occasions, but this suits tonight with Mark in the cart.”
