If you have a mare based in Western Australia or South Australia, don’t miss the chance to get a raffle ticket in the 2017 WASBA Stallion Service Raffle, closing on Sunday 13 August – just four weeks away.

Both First Prize and Second Prize win a free service!

First prize winner can choose one of the fantastic stallions for their free service.

Second prize winner can choose one of these remaining two stallions after the First prize winner has made their choice.

Third prize is a $1000 voucher, and 4th and 5th prize are each a $750 voucher.

These are three champion race horses, and the Western Australian Standardbred Breeders Association (WASBA) is delighted to be able to offer the opportunity to breeders who have mares based in either WA or SA. Two of the stallions have already proven themselves as sires, with He’s Watching just starting his stud career after an exhilarating racing career.

American Ideal 1:47.8 US$785,055 is regarded in the US as a champions sire. With both millionaire sons and daughters, his daughters are as good as his sons. His sons include world champions He’s Watching 1:46.8, Heston Blue Chip 1:48 and in Australia Bling It On 1:50.8 $1,591,076, My Hard Copy 1:51.6 $988,942 etc.

He’s Watching 1:46.8 US$1,129,215 was unbeaten in 8 starts at 2 and crowned US 2yo Colt of the Year. He is the fastest and youngest winner of the Meadowlands Pace, setting a mark of 1:46.8. Quote from Tim Tetrick “He’s Watching is the fastest horse I’ve ever driven”

Sportswriter 1:48.6 US$1,566,460  USA and Canadian 2yo Pacing Colt of the Year, standout sire in Australasia with Group1 winners Niki No No, Shezallapples, Mitch Maguire, Cimorene, and this season’s unbeaten top 2yo in Lumineer 1:52.5.

The first three prizes are open to all breeders, but 4th and 5th prize are for WASBA members only (pay before 13 August 2017). All prizes are for the 2017/18 breeding season with the voucher prizes to be used on service fees on any stallion available from Alabar or Woodlands.

200 tickets are available at $100 each. The prizes are restricted to mares located in WA or SA at the time of service. The raffle closes 13 August, and will be drawn on 18 August 2017.

SA owners and breeders are supporting many WA horses in their second racing careers, and with the support by Allwood Stud for the 2018 SA yearling sale it was the right time to include SA breeders in the raffle for the first time.

Alabar Bloodstock and Woodlands Stud have provided excellent support by agreeing to provide these fantastic stallions for WASBA’s raffle. Funds raised are put back into the industry in the form of stakes, bonuses and incentives, and funds for rehoming.

Anyone who wants a ticket can pay by credit card, cheque or direct deposit. Complete the attached flyer, and return to WASBA by email or the mailing address listed on the form, or email the details to info@wasba.com.au (so that WASBA can send you a ticket) and pay the correct amount directly to the WASBA bank account BSB 036 043 Acc. 129810 with your surname as bank reference.
